Most Foodservice and Nutrition Care Managers would acknowledge that, in a number of situations, “OK is good enough”. However, many times it is understood and that “OK” is NOT acceptable. It is likely that many individuals would agree 99.9% accuracy is a completely adequate standard. Yet, in many healthcare situations, even 99.9% is definitely not good enough.

Love the cartoon, Sam!!  Unfortunately, too many in Foodservice Management are happy feeling, 99.9% is as good as 100% and become complacent.  I think Foodservice Management in healthcare, restaurant etc..  is as important as choosing a surgeon.  How would you feel if your surgeons success rate is only 99.9%?  I would not want to be that statistic!!

While working in nutritional services it is a challenge to put out quality we would all want.
Between federal and state regulations, health is the second most regulated industry next to nuclear reactors in the U.S.A..
